The key thing in having a session recorded is that it is recorded well.

What happens after that is far less important, as it can be re-worked by anyone provided it has all been captured.

They are in good hands.

Anyone that comes here and anounces they've bought a new mic for a good 4 figure sum and immediately says I want to try it out on a bass drum is OK by me....

I keep wondering how Mike can hear you so well without a phone...  Earpiece maybe?  Speakerphone?  Ya, that must be it.
