how to synch audio tracks from from kbrd workstaion to sonar x1

Hi, I want to record a16 track midi sequence from a keyboard workstation  as audio into x1  with each track from keyboard as its own audio track .  How do then synch all audio tracks in sonar? I need to be able to record each track at the same exact time point so everything stays aligned. I hope this makes sense. any suggestions? thanks. my keyboard has only 1 left and 1 right output.

With only 1 left and right audio output on your workstation you can only record those 2 channels at once.

Just record the whole performance in the workstation (audio).  Then play back 1 track at a time (in stereo) while recording into Sonar; line them all up in Sonar when your done.

    Cheers,

He needs to use midi time code and sync it up - I cannot remember the exact procedure top of my head but it involves settings on both the keyboard and Sonar-

Yes - midi time code.  Page 1085 of the X1 reference guide pdf tells you how to make Sonar the midi master - you will then have to make your midi keyboard the slave (external midi clock)

When you say line them up , is their an exact way to do this so they match the original squence? Or is their a way to make Sonar start recording as soon as it receives an audio signal? Can recording be qued by receiving an audio signal? I'm trying to avoid the midi sync it sounds so complicated. Thanks for youre suggestions.  by the way Sonar X1 is the greatest most funtional DAW Ive ever used , This is light years ahead of Sonar 8  my last version. Also I am using the trial version and all my effects accept for pro channel  have disapeared. I rescanned and checked excluded. does this happen w/ the real version?  again thank you

MTC is the timing protocol. Forget that it's MIDI. It is what is used to synchronise two devices. No way around it unless you just want to hit record in SONAR then play on your keyboard then manually line up all your tracks once you've got them all in.

You'll be wishing then you had a way too synch everything up
