MIDI envelope not bouncing

Sonar 8.5 Studio
Windows 7 64-bit
EastWest Gold Orchestral

I have a track using an EastWest Orchestral sample. EW uses Midi Channel 11 for the Expression attribute. I have an envelope representing this ch. 11 attribute in the track.

However, when I freeze the track, the Midi envelope manipulations do not get recorded to the audio. (It also does not work if I do a "Bounce to Track".) Oddly, if I tell it to do a Fast Bounce, it works properly, though some notes and release trails get dropped. With slow bounce, no notes are dropped, but I lose the Expression envelope manipulations.

How can I fix this problem?

reboot sonar and try again. I never know what's going on with envelopes. sometimes they work sometimes they don't. Don't think they fixed it in X1 either.

You need to have a track for midi channel 11. You can easily have two midi channels, one for notes and one for expression, for easy editing. I am pretty sure that your problem is that your midi track is not 11 in the EW folder. So just: create a new midi track; cut-paste envelope to track; make sure it is routed correctly in Sonar.

OK, that seems to do the trick, thank you! I have two tracks now, the regular midi events, and the envelope separate. Both are routed to the same output, which is an instance of EW. If I do a bounce to track with both tracks, that works. I tried doing it with the Freeze Track feature (by selecting freeze on the synth track) but that didn't work. Any way to do it using freeze track, or do I need to use bounce to track? And I guess that brings up a second question, which is what really would be the different?
