The game has changed folks

Just got home and there was a package.

Yeah that happens but what you don't know is that this one
is special. Very special.
It has the power to completely change everything.

Yes I just installed a program with no hassle other than entering
a product key.
I read no instructions. Loaded a file within and....was completely blown away.

Roland R-MIX.

seriously?  I'm curious about what exactly it does and how well it works.  I've read the market-hype speak, but I never take that for the real bottom line.  please report on it when you get your hands dirty with it.

Beagle you put a 44.1 16 bit wav file in it and there is a box the you re-size and a slider
labeled outside level and you can isolate a part.

I just isolated an acoustic finger guitar part, changed the tempo, changed the pitch..

I imagine that it's possibly the best learning tool one could imagine. It's crazy I'm telling you.

It means you could isolate a part, export it, convert and print it out. Not that I have but
    see nothing stopping it.

No time to spend with it right now..other work that calls.

It's just more of what Melodyne DNA tech has allowed.  This plus Unveil from Zynaptic let's you completely disassemble a mix...futz with it and then remix it back to your liking.  Ain't technology great?

So many groovy tools so little time.

I don't know if it's just me but there seems to be a tidal wave of incredibly good stuff hitting the market just now.

Man I'm sure I want one of these.

JB, should I get two in case the first one breaks?

Worked late but my grand daughter wanted to check it out...no problem loading on computer. She installed it on hers no problems.

Man I can't imagine if I had had this program when I started playing...isolate the guitar- slow it down, change pitch, record it solo...all that from the first two minutes- be glad to have some time with it.

    And X1 sure didn't mind...I had a track in X1 recording while I played around...no issues.

I was looking for details on this..... to maybe hear demo's or videos ..... ?????

I'll search youtube next. (found it) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bp_tkFuzn3E

OK.... watching the examples in the video.

There are some pretty obvious artifacts audible in the demo they are doing. Slowing down the tune showed some artifacts as did the pitch change even by one click up. THe sound quality had a dramatic change with just one click up and two was unusable in a broadcast quality mix. For use in slowing a solo down to pick out the notes..... probably very useful.

What I didn't quite understand in that short video was how do you select ...say the  piano part verses the guitar or vocal?

Still, I can see how this could be useful in some cases. In it's price range I suspect they will sell it quite easily.

Of course, I can probably store the spare for you until you need it.

Watched a couple vids on YouTube.  Sure looks fun. I like the  ability of isolating a guitar lead and slowing it down for learning.

Going for around $200. Mention of an iPad version coming out also.

Value? Sound quality? What can be done?

I sure won't go out on limb about software. Evaluation best left
    to the user IMO.
I like it. I have uses for it and no complaints for what I paid. It does exactly
what I thought and hoped it could do.

My main intention was to let folks know it's shipping as it much later than
    original release date.
