You change the patch in the track view Pch dropdown.
You should also use different channels for each MIDI track.
This is some of the most basic info in the Help files and tutorials. I recommened all new users do the tutorials included with the program.
The track pane should look something like this when expanded:

so you can change inputs, output channels, banks and patches.

Music Creator 2003, MC Pro 24, SONAR Home Studio 6 XL, SONAR  X3e, CbB, Focusrite Saffire, not enough space.

What soft synth are you using?

SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre  -  Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc.

MIDI has no sound, it is only instruction data. If you hear a sound there must be a soft synth or a hardware synth that makes the sound, or you are using your soundcards Wavetable synth, which is the poorest choice.

It's time to read the manual and do the tutorials. Also, when you ask a question, it's good to tell us what SONAR you are using in what kind of a system.

SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre  -  Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc.
