Track Icon Selections {solved}

How do you get the track Icons in Windows 7 to show up in the folder where they are located so you can see the little thumbnails to pick from.  I remember in the older system you could see them.
 
Anybody still able to do this in windows 7?
 
Now all I get is the generic paint brushes for each bitmap image.  So I have to preview all the pictures in "windows photo viewer" to choose the ones I want.
