Hi,
Apologies up front - this really isn't a style of music that I listen to so my opinion is tempered by that...
What I did like was how each section seemed to have a slightly different arrangement which kept me listening even though I couldn't fully appreciate the music itself.
Strangely this really reminded me of the (admittedly synth heavy) soundtrack to the Outrun arcade game that was out in the 90s. It might have been the sound effects coupled with similar chords.
Production wise it sounded a bit flat (lack of dynamics) but everything was clearly heard on my laptop speakers.

This was so cool that I had to hear it a couple of times to get my head around it. The different sounds and textures really caught my attention, as did the odd measure that wasn't 4/4. The jazziness was very compelling, too. This is one of the most interesting pieces I've heard in a while. Bravo to you.

All the previous comments have really said it all. A great piece that definitely captured my imagination and kept me glued to the music throughout. I hear what you say about adding a vocal (yes, I have the same problem as you when I sing!). Perhaps you might consider adding a lead instrument coming in with a dominant theme once or twice - perhaps a sax - instead. But the piece stands perfectly without it. Great work.

thanks alot purple rhapsody, lynn, malcolm foxwolfen and daryl1968 for reviewing my tune im very grateful. also to terry (purple rhapsody) i noticed the flat sound too but i dont know what i should do about it.. it is really annoying cuz my other tunes im working on have same lack of dynamics you mentioned (??) im going to try some expander plug-in or something like that

GREAT piece of music. I'm diggin that Urban/Funk/Jazz vibe. What a nice tone from the jazz guitar and it sits perfect in the mix. Speaking of mix on my end its very full sounding and has great high and low end separation. KUDOS! Looking forward to hear more of your music.

thanks Kev for the nice words.. thats weird that you say it sounds full.. now im wondering if im imagining all this.. u know what i mean?? like when you listen to song over and over then u cant tell if something wrong with it or not? lol .glad u like the tone..in case ur interested, its direct in, no plug ins or amp, tone knobs at zero, bridge pick-up.

Thomas, one trick you might consider is mixing for front to back spatiality. Make some elements purposely louder than other in certain spots, and you can have different elements trading places, so to speak. You can tie this to the rhythm of the piece to make it groove. Subtlety is key here, you don't need to make it too obvious because it will stick in people's mind subliminally. Even if you do nothing, it's still a very good tune. thomas1234567890

Very cool indeed. This would make a great theme tune for a light drama series. Really creative stuff, i enjoyed it.
