Input/output devices not being saved in project

Hi all,  I'm having a problem saving projects in X1 Studio.  I cannot save the input/ output devices I've assigned to a midi track.  When I assign them in each track, save the project, exit and reopen the project, my device assignments are lost and ive got to redo it each time.  I have the devices listed and checked off in the preferences->devices screen for both the inputs and outputs.  I never had this issue with Sonar X1 LE however when I upgraded to Studio I started having this problem.  Has anyone ever encoutered this problem and found a resolution for it?  Thanks all.
