Required Parameters Not Supplied...or somethin....

The last few weeks I've been getting quite a lot of this error dialog when booting up X1d.  When I click through it, it looks like I'll be able to send an automatic report to Cake but once I click that goes away and the "Search for a solution and close the program" dialog pops up.  Sometimes I have to do a complete reboot.  And, on occasion, it happens two or three times in a row before Sonar finally opens.  Any info on this you can hip me to???

    If it just popped up out of the blue without any updates or anything; just opening Sonar with no project.  Ya know I would have to start thinking about something being corrupted in Sonar or something else in your system.

    I used to have it happen on very rare occasions but the last few weeks it's fairly frequent.

    Is this happening on more than one project?

    Is it happening on project started totally within X1 or are there any 8.5 projects involved?

    So far just X1 projects.  And it seems random.  The same project it happened on this morning might open fine this afternoon...and vice versa.

    Have you recently installed any other software that might have replaced the C++ runtime library? "Missing parameters" suggests a version mismatch.


    All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

    Yup...I recently have installed several things but my reinstalls of my Nomad Factory stuff might have done it.  They do the Microsoft C++ runtime thingy. Is there something I should do?

    I am no expert in these matters but others have had success DLing the latest C++ lib from MS. I would check which version was on your system and see if an update will help. Before you do anything make a backup first of your system.

    You should be able to find the C++ runtime redist package on your SONAR installation DVDs. It may not be the latest version, but at least it was the version SONAR wanted. If your other software actually updated it with a newer version, then the old installer will not overwrite it, in which case it's time to call your friendly bakers for advice.
