Is there a way to color the timeline
I want to have sections of the time ruler in different colors for quick referencing. Is there a way to do something like this. The only thing I can think of is coloring clips and thats what I'm trying to avoid. Thanks in advance.

Sadly that seems to be the (Seth Perlstein) suggested method as witnessed in the Webinar about 35 days ago. Maybe in X2?

Ok thanks, I guess the idea was planted in my head from him and I forgot he mentioned it.

On the time line... if I need to know where I'm at... I use markers and names. Colors would be visually very quick. I'd also love to see track colors (automatic) by buss assignment. Perhaps a button in the inspector that matches the buss the track is assigned to. This has been suggest to the bakers for inclusion into future cake products.

In the first CakeTV live session, Seth shared a great tip that gives you exactly what you want: sections of the time ruler in different colors for quick referencing Instead of explaining I'll just link you to that section of the CakeTV session so you can get the tip first hand :) http://www.youtube.com/wa...;v=XTysXLBiYqY#t=3742s I use this all the time now :)

I set this up and it has a flaw - when you scroll down in the screen, you lose site of the track 1... Now if we could lock the view of a track 1, this would be an excellent work around.

I should also mention that using the track navigator in the multi-dock can be a very fast way to move around within the project.

Well, obviously it has its flaws as its not a real feature. Basically, yes, its just a MIDI track with colored clips. You can lock the height of the track, though, so that it neither expands nor collapses when it zooms in (set this option by right-clicking), but you can't exclude it from scrolling off screen. Maybe I'll do a blog post about this and go step by step through the setup and options. Would you all find that helpful? SP
