Plug-ins stop working

Every now and again I have to reinstall a plug because I get the error 'failed to insert - may not be properly installed.' This has happened with Guitar Rig 4 more often but also BFD2. In the case of BFD2, the .dll is in the correct place and I can see Sonar's scan path, so I just don't get it. Anyone? Thanks - rev

System is running Win 7 x64, Sonar 8.5.3 and I am the admin. I'll try Run as Admin because I know there are levels of Admin and I might not be the big cheese.
