Absolute Newbie problem with step 2 of 'getting started'

Absolute Newbie problem with step 2 of 'getting started'

I've just cracked the selophane of Sonar X1, running on Win7 with factory fitted RealTek sound card.
I managed to get sound and I can hear the sample projects, but...when I get to 'Finding and previewing audio loops' in the Getting started guide, I double-click on a file in the Loopmaster folder but I don't hear/preview it. If i dbl-click a second time it gets inserted into the 'clips pane' and i can play it. It does mention if you don't hear anything revisit 'Audio Preview Bus' help but I can't find that.

    Have you inserted a synth to preview with? That's what tripped me up. Follow all the directions in Tutorial 2 in the Help topics exactly and you'll figure it out. If you miss even one step certain things won't work.

    Oh and the Audio Preview Bus settings are under the Media tab at the top left of the Browser window.

    You don't need a synth with audio loops, Beepster.

    Sorry. I was thinking of the MIDI grooves preview. You still need to create a bus though.
