SONAR is not properly installed

Hello, I have installed SONAR Home Studio 6 XL on my x64 system through the x64 setup. Now it is telling me: "SONAR is not properly installed. Please install it using your original CD." Unfortunately, my original CD is in storage, I installed it from a copy I made for backup / recovery purposes on my USB Hard Disk. I haven't received this error before when I've recovered and reinstalled. Is it because it is locked down in 64-bit mode on Windows 7? Or what do I need to do to make it run right? Thank you...

When I installed SHS 6 on my Win 7 64-bit computer, I set it to Run As Administrator and right-clicked the SHS 6 icon and selected Troubleshoot Compatibility. It seemed to run okay. Note: I installed the 32-bit version so I could continue using my 32-bit plug-ins.

greg - you should be able to use MOST of your 32bit plugins using the 64bit version.  the only ones which shouldn't work would be the 32bit DX plugins.  all of the 32bit VST plugins and softsynths should work.  sonar uses what's called the bitbridge to allow the 32bit plugins to work in the 64bit program.

but the 32bit DX plugins have to be reprogrammed for the 64bit OS since they are tied to the OS directly.
