Midi ACT
Hey guys, with risk of appearing lazy, don't roll your eyes just yet. I'm running Sonar producer 8 and have a carillon control 49 keyboard/controller. Tried having a fiddle with this before but didn't seem to have the greatest of luck/clue. Just looking for a mix of advice/resources/links that any of you are aware of that'll help me begin to get a good grasp of this??? Synth/plugin modulation & automation has never been an important issue for me, currently going a whole lot electronic, so time to get clued up on this! Many thanks in advance much love

So I think I've improperly began to understand how to assign my sliders to control my track faders... however, it's controlling my midi channel volumes... How do I get it to only control the audio output channels???

Also, isn't ACT supposed to re-adapt to whichever area is in focus? As in, if I'm on my channel strips, it will control that, if I'm on my buses, it will control that, if I'm in my plugins, will control them.. etc??? 'cause at the moment, it will only control the whatever box i ticked in the settings. Would be great if I could disinclude midi tracks however... is this possible?

Okay, so far I've managed to get it to work slightly, though I'm finding assigning knobs/faders a bit of a nusance. I managed to get my 1st two knobs to control attack/decay, I followed the same process for the third knob, but nothing happened, I did the same-ish thing over n over several times, 'til it finally worked. I've got the ACT settings window open, and my synth open, I click ACT Learn, hit a button, twist a knob, turn it off. This worked for the first two knobs (and eventually the third) but seems to need me to assign an already assigned controller to it, then assign a knew one instead. hopefully I'm not messing up my sonar/act settings with all this pissing about. Much love for any help.

Okay think I may have figured it out. for un-reactive controllers, I clicked learn in the ACT Settings box, twisted the controller, go back to the vst/plugin/whatever, click act learn, twist, unclick, boom job done. Looks like I'm going to be able to finally have some fun with my knob(s)!!!

Can anyone still help with this???
My method doesn't seem particularly reliable. How do I stop a parameter being controlled by a certain part of my controller, I can't seem to achieve this.

Iron Keys How do I stop a parameter being controlled by a certain part of my controller, I can't seem to achieve this. Some controls can be unlinked by right-clicking and selecting "Remove MIDI" or "MIDI unlearn" or whatever. Have have tried this?

I don't get any response from right-clicking.
