Delta 1010 inverted phase

I'm slow to the party, but I just found out last evening that the Delta 1010 inverts the phase on the analog input buttons when in the -10 position.

The Delta Control Panel has  phase inversion switches to correct this... But what does it mean for all of my previous recordings? As in years of recording.

Does it have an impact on what was recorded or do I need to invert/reverse the phase on all of the tracks of the recorded material?

Thanks for any input on this inverted or otherwise.

From the Avid Website:
The +4/-10 buttons for the Analog Inputs on the Delta 1010 breakout box will invert the polarity (also called phase) when in the -10 position.  This can be compensated for by enabling the input phase inversion switches on the Hardware Tab of the Delta Control Panel.

Let your ears be the judge...
If it sounds like a problem, it's a problem.
If not, leave past mixes in the past... and correct the issue from here out.

Thanks Jim - sounds like a good plan. I'm in the middle of a couple of projects that need additional tracks recorded. You think I should keep the prior phase settings until these projects are finished?

In mid project, I'd keep your work habbits consistent.
You can always flip the phase of any track via software... so it'll be easy to "correct" if necessary.

I don't think it's anything to worry about at all. The only time unintended phase inversion is going to mess you up is when you're recording common signals on two or more channels simultaneously. You'd have to be recording a binaural source via two input channels, one on +4 and the other at -10. Then, you'd have a problem.

Like Jim says, if it sounds like a problem it's a problem. And if you experienced this particular scenario there'd be no doubt - it would definitely sound like a problem.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

Thank you Bit and Jim for easing my mind on this. I've used the delta1010 more years than I care to list here. For the most part - I would say it does its' job a lot better than I have done mine. Recordings are clear and clean. Thinking I may switch it out at some point, but not just yet.
