Is it possible to open or import old Nuendo 2 project files into X1?

Eventually I gotta yank a few projects off my old rig which runs Nuendo 2 so I can fiddle with them in Sonar. If it's not possible to do what would be some work arounds?

Even if I get get the old files without effects or automation that would be acceptable.

I'm sure you could import the raw audio files into Sonar. unless they are recorded in a format sonar cant use.
file/ import (file location) select files. or you can use the browser feature.

I'll check it out. My big worry is that the tracks won't be synced up properly. I would like to save some of the meticulously snips/fades I did but if I can just get them loaded I'll be happy enough. Oh and I'm pretty sure Nuendo 2 just records the tracks as WAVs. It just the project files are obviously a different format. Thanks.

someone will correct me if Im wrong (I hope)

if they are broadcast wave files. and you have checked in you settings.
preferences/audio data/all project/ tick import all broadcast wave files at their timestamp. you should be good to go.

another option and this is if you still have nuendo is to export/bounce each track completely. so each file will start at zero.

Does Nuendo 2 have OMF? If so you can export an OMF file and open it in SONAR. OMFs save all tracks and clip edits. No effects, of course.

hmm... I'm gonna have to read up on import/export stuff a little more to understand that. I'm trying to read the entire help topics file in Sonar from start to finish. I'm still working through the tutorials at the moment so I have a LOOOOOOONNGGG way to go. Thanks. At least I can use those terms to search through the help files.

Oh cool. That I understand (kind of). Thanks Seth. Not quite sure about that file type but I'll check. That sounds super easy.
