I woke up in Mexico Beach, FL...
and it is NICE. I am the nerd with the metal detector... I did find a wedding band but it is titanium... cheaper than silver. I'll check again. Going to surf fish with my ultralight, catching small fish in the surf with an ultralight is FUN... then I butcher them and put them of the big reel and try for a bluefish or a shark. BTW, I learned the trick to catching those small fish that always bite and steal your shrimp in the surf... a small bream hook and a fingertip size piece of shrimp.... works like a charm. OK, back to doing nothing... biding time waitning to go eat a fried oyster basket at Killer Seafood... life is hard. (BTW... I am kidding. Don't go to my house and steal my stuff... I am actually there). Hope your day is great, if not maybe you can get drunk and think that it is. Julien

Uh... now I have to read the glope thread... but that is OK. I probably am a huge glope. I am most everything at one time or another and if not I can usually fake it. J

I've been there a time or two (not your house that I know of) and must say it is a nice place. Never fished there as I usually hit the bays in Panama City. Thanks for the tip on them scheming little bait stealers. Enjoy.

Do the F22s fly buy every morning to wake you up? Or is it the Blackhawks? :-) There is a killer little Pipe Organ in the Catholic church 5 miles east of you in Port St. Joe. Have fun in the sun. It's been real nice weather. best regards, mike

Do the F22s fly buy every morning to wake you up? They are some sort of jets, Raptors maybe but they don't wake me up. They come by a little later. At home we get night training flights of something like a C130. They fly LOW with no lights... it is amazing when they come right over. We also get a lot of Apache training flights, they are low and fast too. I've even seen them over downtown Atlanta but that was about 20 years ago. They fly out of Dobbins and used to fly out of NAS Atlanta/Smyrna but I think it closed. This reminds me. One afternoon I was in Marietta and some F-jet came over and turned nose up and must have hit the afterburner because I watched him go completely out of sight... straight up. Only time I have ever seen that. When I was a kid they would fly over SOWEGA and break the sound barrier. That is something everyone should hear at least once. No jets today.. hot sun and not enough people to watch. My wife likes is deserted, I am a people watcher. Mullet are running big time just offshore in the AM. J

They are/were assembled in Marrietta, GA and will test them there before ferrying to the USAF base where they are to be stationed. BUT that won't happen any more - the last one was delivered just recently. Marrietta no longer does the final F-22 assembly. F-22's can do amazing things with their vectored thrust and dual engines. without afterburners even!

wait - he's just a few miles from where you live, isn't he Mike? I think Mike lives near Tallahassee, relatively close but about an hour away. Good area. There is a monument to one of my ancestors in Tallahassee. He was one of four (IIRC) Revolutionary War vets who settled in Tallahassee. Zachariah Jerkins (Gherkins on the monument). His great great grandson started the town of Dothan, AL. He and a cousin or nephew (can't remember right now) decided that the crossroad there would be a good place for a town. He, being an architect, laid out streets and people bought lots and built. He also designed some early bridge in the area. His GG etc grandson was Dr. W.L. Jerkins, Moultrie, GA's 1st specialist. He was an eye, ear, nose, and throat Dr and was involved in the first eye surgery in GA when he was training under another Dr. in Atlanta. Me?.. I must have gotten the regressive couch potato gene... oh well. Julien

Interesting history as I lived in Dothan for 30 years. Your ancestor would be proud. Or would he?
