Control Surface question.....

It appears that only MIDI track sliders transmit MIDI messages back to the hardware control surface (VS2480 in this case) I've got the 2480 controlling SONAR nicely, but SONAR Audio tracks wont move the VS2480 sliders because they aren't sending any MIDI information. I tried making some "Simple INstrument" tracks (whcih are a "hybrid of MIDI and Audio" according to Help), but again, no MIDI sent from the SONAR slider. MIDI track sliders will send MIDI info that move the sliders on any channel selected in the track I/O. So .... How to get the audio channel sliders to send MIDI data?

I'm not sure what is happening there. There should be no special set up for audio tracks. Both MIDI & Audio work fine with the Mackie protocol and as far as I know most others.

Have you tried uninstall the control surface drivers and/or removing and adding it as a control surface within Sonar?

Right. The MC works with MIDI coming to it and sends MIDI out. Not all mixers that can be used as a CS will respond to incoming MIDI. If yours does than its likely not setup right.

2480 absolutely sends and responds to MIDI. Problem is that I have no CS driver loaded (faders allow "remote" learning w/out even an ACT). I've tried the "Generic Cakewalk CS" but can't figure out how to get it to have Audio Faders send MIDI. I wonder how I can configure the Generic to make the AUDIO channel faders transmit MIDI like the MIDI CHannel faders do?
