Installed FLStudio demo. Asio4all now running. What is it exactly?

As stated in the subject, I installed the demo for FLstudio to try it out. It installed Asio4all on my computer. I get that - I presume it is needed for Flstudio. But when I open Sonar I see Asio4all is now running. Not sure why, not sure if I need it, etc etc. I have an M-Audio 610 that includes Asio drivers. So ... what's up???

Thanks!

Its a generic low latency audio driver for Windows which works with nearly all sound devices. If you don't own a dedicated sound card whihc comes with its own ASIO driver you use ASIO4ALL with your onboard sound and get great low latency performance!

Probably you don't need it , the M-Audio 610  includes Asio drivers
