Recorded data moves to start of track when recording stops

If I start a recording in the middle of a song, the wave data shifts to the beginning of the track when I stop the recording. Does anyone know how to prevent my recording from moving and just let it stay put where I recorded it? I'm using X1 Expanded.

Any ideas other than Punching In where I wish to start recording in the track?

Why can't I just start recording in the middle of a song and have the data stay there? It's a pain to have to move the wave data back to where I started the recording.

I don't have that issue. I can record anywhere on the track and when I hit stop, it stays put. However, I can't figure out why you are having the issue. Look through your preferences selection and see if anything seems unusual.

What do you have your From and To set to?

Are you using a control surface?

Do you have Loop turned on?
