Smart tool with fade curves

 Is it me being dumb?

It works really great overall.

The only time I really struggle with it is when fade curves are on the clips.

it seems smart tool only want to deal with those curves and it is really hard to get it to act to resize a clip instead.

doesn't matter where I put the mouse it always want to edit the fade curve, never the clip start point and I eventualy have to select the manual tool to do that.

Is it the behaviour everyone experiences or am I just not precide enough or something?

Cheers,

Vinny

I believe you have to select the clip towards the bottom in order to resize it, particularly once a fade exists.  Without a fade, anywhere in the bottom half of the clip should do.   If you're having difficulties I would recommend resizing the track height so there's more available space to work with.

I tried again when working on a project. same thing. sometimes I manage to get it to act as I need, usually by placing the mouse close to middle, but in the upper part of the clip. but it is very fidly.

90% of the time, whatever I try, the mouse is trying to edit the fade curve. surelly it could be improved so a dedicated area (like the middle of the clip, give or take 5% for example) always act as resize for the clip?

Anyway, not a major drama at all, just one of these things that does slow me down.
