The feel good moments of recording
Kind of weird to go out to different clubs and bands always single you out. They know your face, they know they think they know you but cant figure it out and continue throughout the night trying to narrow their feelings on it down with the crowd, I get a chuckle out of it (but never tell) and after researching, the ones doing this are visiting some of my on-line work or hearing it locally and are interested in it even though it is the stuff that is just being worked on and not finalliazed/completed. Kinda warms the heart to see the interest, respect and care for/from the music world. Curious if any others have or are experiencing this?

Nope. No one knows who I am and no one cares. Least of here.

The best was when one of our songs happened to come on during a shuffle play of 1,000's of songs and a couple of hundred people got to hear it with no one complaining (I even heard one "Who's this? This is cool!" - I resisted the obvious urge to blurt out "It's MEEEEEEEE!!!!" heh).
Time for all of you to head over to Beyond My DAW!

Must be a really nice experience Mike, not one I've ever shared, or likely to now, unfortunately.

It's a good feeling Mike for sure! I had a crazy experience a few years ago after I joined Black Comedy. Those guys have been at it since 96 or something, starting out as teenagers but never quite made the big league despite having some big name members. I joined them and played a bunch of shows right of the bat and among them was a pretty good spot at the Inferno Festival during the Easter of 2009 where metal heads from all over Europe come to indulge in beer and satanism (it's a primarily a black metal festival). That summer I went to visit a friend in Toronto and had a great week. When I was waiting to board the plane to go home, a plane going to Ireland was waiting right next to it. There was a huge crowd of young adults in the 18-22 year age range (I'm guessing) probably on some group trip and a few of them kept whispering and pointing towards me. I started geting uncomfortable, thinking I had a booger hanging out of my nose, my fly was open with my weiner hanging out or something was stuck in my hair. Then one little goth chick came over and asked if I was the bass player in Black Comedy - which I NEVER expected to hear! She'd seen me play with Black Comedy at the Inferno Festival So I was a rambling fool in a very surprised state, completely missing out on the cool Rock Star attitude but it sure felt great

My daughter used to hate the fact that it would take the best part of an hour to take a 15 minute walk through town because of the amount of people I'd stop and talk to. She has a sister-in-law now that had an even greater burden in that dept than she did by an enormous factor... I'd much rather be heard and not seen TBH, I think that's why I wanted to be the drummer as it has been more often the people I've been seen with that get the attention. I prefer that. I do it myself though, I once saw Charlie Watts at Heathrow and was thinking to myself "I swear I know this guy.", until he said something like "Yeah, it is me!" and I suddenly blurted out 'Charlie!' like he'd been my best mate all my life...

i dont miss the "hey are you" at all,at first was exciting, then it became annoying, ive never been anyone but a semi professional musician who had local fame and one good stroke in the early 90's. id like to keep it that way. every onece in a great while there is a grunge left over who recognizes me and toots the old horn,my kids think im some super star. exspecialy my dautghter who has most of my achievments hanging on the walls in her room. i get more of a feel good being dad then i ever did being that other guy. that place can be realy lonely, missing some of the greatest parts of my kids lifes. i justified it by saying that it would better their life someday. i just love what i do now, love my life.
