Synth Property page cutting out sound

Ok here's a weird one. When I open a synth in the synth rack everything is fine, no problems. When I play my keyboard it plays sound. When I minimize the synth property page there's no problems, it plays the sounds. Now here's the weird thing. If I then re-open the synth property page the sound will cut out until I minimize it again. Its as if opening up the page just shuts down the sound card I am using. I have 8.5.2 on the same PC and this problem does not exist so I am pretty sure its not a setting in my general Windows 7 64 bit. Anyone else getting this or has anyone else come across it?? This is obviously a massive pain because I can't adjust any knobs on any synth whilst checking the sound. I am using Novation Automap although I can't see how this would be problematic either as it works fine in my 8.5.2 Please help. I am trying to switch to X1 but just keep running up against problems that just make me go back to 8.5.2

    Nobody?? Ok back to 8.5.2 it is then for the time being. I've used Sonar since version 5 so I'll stick with it. Maybe when the next patch for X1 comes out, I will try it out again. In the meantime, if anyone else comes up against this, please feel free to interject. I personally think its a problem with Windows 7, not X1. I have discovered that if I close the screen for the soft synth and then re-open it by double clicking on the synth rack, it all works fine, however if I minimize it with the - button to the taskbar, the problem is still there. Very weird. Maybe I can get used to this and use that method, rather than minimizing to taskbar. Keywords: taskbar sound cut out minimize

    Still had no joy solving this problem. Has anyone else come up against it??
