softsynth audio out & Quad capture?

This question may belong in the computer fourm but maybe not. If I leave my Daw running for a few hours not in use and then open a Sonar project I get no output from all softsynths. This does not effect hardware plugged in to the Quad Capture or playback of anything. The only way to solve this is to restart the computer. My power options on the PC are set for performance and I have usb suspend features turned off, but is there anything else that might cause this?
The Quad capture drivers are up to date as well.
Thanks. Paul

You have all the USB hubs "Allow computer to turn off this device to save power" unchecked from device manager?

Any other advanced Sleep settings still active in your Power plan?

My computer is on 24/7 and never loses connection with the Quad.

    Paul...

I have been using OCTA CAPTURE since it first came out.. nothing but odd problems with SONAR until....

I updated to the new firmware.... BINGO.... solid as an Oak.

Not sure if the QUAD shipped with the new firmware but worth checking out.

    There's a firmware update?

There has been a new driver for a while now. I grabbed it a few weeks ago but didn't notice any changes in performance. It was, and still is, very solid using a 64 sample buffer and getting a round trip latency of about 7ms.

    Same here.

I got the driver update, as has the OP, but was not aware of a firmware one.

I did not notice a filmware from any update but I will check it out. I aslo have not looked at all USB hubs in the device manger about turning off that power option. I am sure there is a simple answer and the Quad Capture has worked great for me.
    Thanks.

I'm sure that's the key thing here.  It certainly sounds like it's not waking from a slumber.

    Good luck
