missings plug-ins or effects for Cakewalk

Hey guys,

I'm using Sonar Producer X1 and recently lost a big old project file after spending hours on it. I was pretty chapped off. IT was also glitching out and freezing a lot-saying Sonar has stopped working, etc.. maybe I was using too many V-Vocal clips or too many effects at once. What can you do to help it not freeze so much when using lots of effects? Have a decent computer-INtel i-3 quad core, 16 gigs of DDR-III ram, etc..

I'm not sure if it's because I wasn't fully registered or what. But yeah-couple times I clicked on something and it would say you need to register like Boost 11 64 or like Vocal 64 plug-in I think(and I'd already be using it). whatnot and I'd already be using one! And like Guitar Rig 4-wasn't doing anything at all-no presets, nothing. So maybe I need to register that through Native Instruments, before I can start using it. Thought I already did, but maybe I only did if for Sonar VS software which came with the VS-100 unit. ANyway, kinda weird, but I'll try to call tech support and make sure I'm fully registered.

The other thing though was the case of the missing Cakewalk effects-when you right click in the effects box-I noticed a major effect was missing-Studioverb2 and also time-pitch stretch 2 and I think tempo-delay? Do I have to re-install the WHOLE software again or what to get that going? I could always ask tech support over the phone I guess. Was really annoying, so I ended up using Sonitus reverb-as that was one of the or the only one left to use from effects that I saw. I like Studioverb2 actually.

The other thing is I also have video editing software-Vegas HD studio platinum 11 or something. And I noticed when trying to use audio effects in that software, that it DID show STudioverb2 in there! And a bunch of other Cakewalk effects. SO I wonder if that video editing software automatically assigned all those other effects or in essence-kinda stole the effects away from Sonar Producer x1? Hmmmmmm. Not sure. I just want to use them when recording and mixing music. Not sure how to get those missing effects back in where they are supposed to be.

In Plugin Manager (accessed through Preferences I think) check Options  under VST Configuration and ensure that all locations of plugins are listed. Add any missing ones. Then click Scan VST plugins.

Thanks man I can try that out.

I called regisitration support and I am already registered from what I know, but I think the issue is that I was running Sonar Virtual STudio AND Sonar Producer X1 and it caused some confusion in the computer-registry perhaps on where to put files, etc... Like I would have 3 options for Boost 11! And you don't have to register "Boost 11" the guy on the phone said. But it was telling me I needed to.

Anyway, so the guy said he sent me a clean install email-to go try and fix it up etc...

man, I love all the options we have when using cool software and stuff, but sheesh-sometimes dealing with software from registering, installing ,glitches and errors, etc.. is a real pain...
