Midi Fx in X1?

I am looking for the midi Fx in Sonar X1.   They used to be in the top menu, now the only place I can find it is directly in the midi track.

The problem I have with this is when I do midi drums; if I want to limit the snare's velocity to 100 (on a track that also has kick, hh and cymbals), I used to select just the snare in the track, then applied the midi fx.

I can't seem to do this anymore, unless the midi fx is hidden somewhere?

Thanks for your help

Midi effects should be readily accessible in the browser or through the menu system. I don't use them but I see them every day.

It's now easier to do a lot of these things in the Event Inspector in the Control Bar.  Check out Scott Garrigus's excellent video on this here:

Thanks Skyline, but this event inspector doesn't do what I need (limit the max velocity)

Ampfixer, It seems that you know where it is... I still can't find it!

    I hope they didn't remove a feature, I can't imagine!!!

In the prv, select the notes you want to adjust.

Now go back to Track View.

Right click the highlighted part of the track where the notes you have just selected are and select Process Fx > Midi Fx > Cakewalk Fx > Velocity

    Thanks, John!

You can also compress MIDI values as per the following article...

    Hi Scott.

Presumably you could do a very similar thing if you wanted to Expand the range of Midi note velocities?

    Hey Colin,

Hmm... not sure. I haven't looked into that so I'm not sure how it would be done.

Bristol, thanks. Now it is an extra step to achieve this operation. Not the end of the world thought! Scott, thanks, learned a new thing. To achieve what I need for now, this way of Find/change is very complicated! But I see how useful it can be.
