drummer etc.. for collab?

hey guys,

I was wanting to find a good drummer or drum programmer or producer type that likes to record and can lay out some nice drums for some songs and collaborate with me. I'm more a singer/songwriter guy and play some guitar.

If you can record live or program with Session Drummer 3 or EZ drummer or whatever and actually know drums really well-different styles and are the engineer type who really understands mixing drums, all the better.

I have Session Drummer 3 and can painstakingly lay out a drum track for some songs, but I'm not a drummer and not really that good at it or experienced. I'm also not familiar with mixing drums well or what would constitute having the drums "in-tune." Like if I record something with guitar that is downtuned a half-step and use the current settings in session drummer 3-I'm not sure that the drum sounds will actually match or be considered in tune or if I have to drop it down increments to try and make it match. just not experienced enough with drums.

Anyway, I do some pop music and acoustic stuff.

IF you're interested, just send a message and let's make some cool music!

Post over on the coffee house and songs forum as well. You might find someone. I opted to go with an artificial drummer that created it's own tracks for me.

Have a look at JAMSTIX.   www.rayzoon.com

It is an artificial intelligence drummer.  Give it a few basic parameters and select a drummer and a style and JS will effortlessly create a unique drum track for you.

This thing was a life saver for me when I was getting started because like you, I too, do not play drums.

You don't really need your drums to be in tune with the other instruments. Just themselves. Some guys will try to set their kick to accentuate certain bass notes (like a low E) but usually you'd just follow standard drum tuning procedures (there are lots of articles online about this topic) and let 'er rip. Hope you find someone to collaborate with. I'm still trying learn this program and already have a few albums worth of material backlogged and waiting to be recorded as it is. Peace.

@Guitarhacker... well that's pretty cool. Definitely gotta check that out.

@byudog... you know with Session Drummer 3 you can take the pre installed loops and personalize them in the step sequencer or piano roll, right? There are so many different beats and fills you should be able to put together almost anything you want if it isn't like Niel Peart type complicated (and there is an ad pack that DOES do Niel Peart stuff). No need to put notes in one by one or even really know anything about playing drums.

@chuckebaby... hey there, pardner. How goes it?
