Reducing Hiss as signal drops.

As the final guitar note fades away, a hiss becomes obvious.
I can Multiband EQ it out but the whole clip changes.
How do I automate EQ on this clip to gradually reduce a narrow Q band.
Clip automation only allows pan and gain.

Is there a reason you can't use Track Automation?

Lol I guess. It seems inefficient but I'm sure effective.
    Thanks

    Ok next question.
I want to reduce EQ gain between 2.5K & 3.5K increasingly as the note fades.
What would I choose for that?
The automation has a confusing list.
I see the clip animation does have Sonitus multiband.
But when, say band 3 gain is selected, it doesn't have a way to adjust anything. How do I know what band 3 is set to?
Do I go thru the list trial and error?

I also thought there was a way to record a manual adjustment of an effect rather than automatic? I tried enabling the "W" while adjusting real-time but it didn't take.
