Creating Track Templates

So after seeing Brandon's cool string template used in the latest BS show (tee-hee, sorry couldn't resist) I set up 3 synths and bussed them all with a nice PC preset and some reverb.
I saved as template which creates a .cwt extension but when I open a project and try to insert it the dialogue is insisting on a .cwx.
What the heck did I do wrong?
Thanks very much,
Randy

You made a project template. You need to create a track template.

Just to clarify Randy, select the track(s) you want as a template, right click in the header area and select "Save as...." from the context menu. That'll do it.

Thanks Karl, I was going to the file menu...right clicking and choosing from the context menu is easy enough...I'll be making several today so it'll be ingrained after today...I think...well maybe
    Thanks again Karl,
    Randy

Well no, I'm too shy, modest and humble to do that
I will and thanks for the follow-up John.
I was also having an issue yesterday that might not have been user error (I'll post a separate thread later if I run into it again) but for whatever reason, occasionally I get no sound from synths after them working fine.
Sometimes it's just one, sometimes it's several at a time (ie yesterday, all 3 of the ones mentioned above). No sound from my Axiom 61 or PRV or the synth interface.
If I close and restart the project they're all back ...or if I just reload the same patch into the particular synth it then works fine.
If anyone sees any red flags or has a suggestion please let me know.
Otherwise I'll start a new thread later if/when it happens again.
    Thanks very much guys!
    Randy
