On the subject of the 64 bit engine...........

I used to run with it on all the time then read/heard/imagined/invented(?) that one of the bakers said/posted somewhere that there wasn't much point and it was only really beneficial to turn it on for export. Hence my working methodology in one of my posts above.

Any thoughts on that? Did I dream it? Is it beneficial to turn on all the time? IIRC it might have been to do with minimising dropouts/system strain or I could have just imagined it.

FBB, I remember reading that but I can't remember exactly.  I got that it didn't do much except at the end of the day but didn't hurt nothing neither.  Maybe it had something to do if your system was having problems.  However, I am lazy and just leave it on since it doesn't seem to strain my system.  One less thing to remember to do at mixdown.

So definitely check the 64 bit option on mixdown. Noted. Thanks guys.

Yeah you can save that option off as part of the mix down presets so you don't forget. I'm now wondering whether I should just turn it on all the time and be done with it. I can't even remember why I switched it off, probably listening to someone on here.

Well for me if it doesn't do anything until the end I'd personally leave it off just because I'm a little anal and like to follow proper procedure. Maybe there's something in the help topics about this.

Heh... well yeah but I'm gonna attempt to read and possibly perform every task in the actual F1 menu in hopes of becoming a Sonar ninja like some of you guys. ;-)

The only reference I can find regarding switching it on/off is that with it off it'll save some CPU power. Perhaps that's why I had it switched off.

I think I'll turn it back on as default and see how I go. I've got a new system now so power shouldn't be an issue.

Cool. Yeah... me, personally I'd keep it off. Not that my system should need any extra resources but if I don't need something running I prefer to just leave it out of the equation just in case. Lemme know how it goes.
