EZDrummer/Addictive Drums error after Windows update

Hello all,

I recently had my recording computer (Windows XP) go through an automatic update.  Now when I load up EZDrummer or Addictive Drums in Sonar Home Studio 6, the drum samples don't play 'right'.  The sounds sound muffled, almost techno sounding.  I have no idea what caused this.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Upon second review, it looks like every VST I load up plays with a distorted sound =/

a lot of things could have caused it.  what soundcard are you using?  distorted sound is likely caused by your latency buffers on your soundcard.  updates to the OS could have increased some DPC latency on some program causing your soundcard latency to become too low for the computer's resources.
