If, perhaps, one was thinking...

..of composing some music inspired by a book that one read 40 years ago, which featured half a dozen songs linked by instrumental passages, culminating in a 10 minute epic...would that be veering ever so close to being..a..gulp....whisper it..

..concept album?

I'm racking my brains trying to think of what gave the idea of concept albums a bad name.

A collection of themed tracks inspired by literature?

Nah, it can't have been that.  It sounds like a good idea

    Alan Parsons?

hmmmm, yep, could be something there.

I know, call it 'Parsons? My Arse!'

I think it was almost certainly Rick Wakeman doing King Arthur...on ice.

Anyway, the book is Alan Garner's 'Weirdstone of Brisingamen', and I'm giving it a go.

You can't fail with a title like that.

It's a preposterous prominence of pretentious pomposity that needs to be avoided.  Yup, just remember the 5 'p's to avoid and you'll be fine.

    Yes I know there's only four but I couldn't remember the 5th.

    Do it James.
I have an idea for the live show that includes an 18 ft model of Stonehenge - it will be awsome.

The Slick Wrists of J. Arthur was actually funnier than Spinal Tap without even trying.

It did have a 'Bobby Crush' type family appeal about it though.......

    ......which was nice.
