is it possible to remove the voice of an mp3 on Sonar X1 LE?

hello, i am new here... my wife just got a samson G-Track microphone together with the Sonar X1 LE software. now she wants to record her voice with using an instrumental verson of some songs. sadly not for every song there are good instrumental versions. now my question...is it possible to remove the voice of an .mp3 file on Sonar X1 LE to make an instrumental of it? If yes, how? and if not, which do you know a good program, which i can use for doing that? I am really thankful for any help here :)

It's possible and it isn't, but X1 LE doesn't have the best tools for it. Something like Melodyne Editor is better for the job.
The results totally depend on the origininal material. Don't expect to get very good sounding results, 95% sure you will not get even close to karaoke record quality. Also, it won't be a quick process.

Bigger or smaller parts of the instruments will be lost in the process, and remains of vocals will be left, if there is more than one solid voice in the middle of the stereo field.

SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre  -  Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc.
The benefit of being a middle aged amateur is the low number of years of frustration ahead of you.
