Levels of Bounced Tracks

Scenario: Wanted to bounce a vocal track with Melodyne to a simple audio track while preserving the original source. Picked Bounce to Tracks and unchecked all the options I did not want, including Fast Bounce. The level of the original track was moderate. The level of the bounced track was through the roof, constantly blowing into the red. I checked the options and the Sonar Power book and didn't see anything addressing levels. What am I missing? Thanks.

Perhaps your trim was set to high.

What options did you use and which did you not use to bounce?

I don't know which trim you mean, sorry. The only trim I know is the Mic Pre settings in the VS-700 IO. Here are the settings I used: Destination: New Track | Source Category: Tracks | Channel Format: Mono | Dithering: None | Mix Enable (these were checked—all others were unchecked) Track Automation, Track FX, 64-bit Engine, Audible Bounce. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Are we ever going to get line breaks with Firefox so people can read our posts?

Every track and buss has a trim control at the top. Track FX needs to be checked if you have any FX including PC.

I'm not a melodyne user but I'd have thought that you would need to have "Track FX" checked to include it's processing which may be why the bounced level is so high.

I also noticed that when I bounce my melodyne edits to a new track, with volume/trim/etc all zero'd out, the output is louder on the new track. I can't figure out why. This has only started to happen with X1d, which has also broken the fast-bounce so I get to do this in realtime. Lame.
