Compassion is the Way - Instrumental Track

Click to listen

A little bit of electronica, a little bit of latin, mostly power metal. It's all instrumental. Check it out.

Very cool. Lots of energy. A slightly euro sound to the synth. Nice.

Interesting Joan - Archie?.  from your other posts in the MC forum, I'm assuming this is all synth and soundfont based.

the drums that come in at 0:30 bother me, something's out of time in that section.
    again at 3:30.

you're missing a little low end on this.  the bass needs more presence.

this is quite long.  most people's attention span losese interest after 3, 4 minutes tops.  especially on an instrumental, IMO.

it's a good high energy piece and you've obviously put a lot of talent and work into it!

This is a very ambitious song with so many  elements happening at once.  Forturnately, it is well mixed and panned in such a way that the elements have their place and can be heard.  I would be hard to categorize this tune, but it has a driving beat all the way through, so it would be at home in many clubs.  It is a bit long, but depending on where the listener's head is at, it may be OK.  All in all, this song will make a body move.

    All the best,
    Lynn

@Beagle : Yes it's entirely based on synths and soundfonts. Believe it or not, I started by writing the MIDI manually using my graphics tablet on the PRV. The drums at 0:30 is intentional, making use of a 16th note syncopation technique I learned from studying the music from Secret of Mana, I am not sure about the drums at 3:30. As for the bass, I was actually worried that it might be too prominent, crowding out the kicks. I had to use some aggressive EQing to shunt the very low end off the bass guitars, while keeping the earthy tones intact, and raise the same frequency ranges on the kicks.
