Roland Audio Interfaces - why arent they available from the Cakewalk store??
Wondering why we cant purchase directly from Cakewalk?? Is it purely a case of not wanting to put dealers' noses out of joint?? Or is it the logisitcs of managing freight, returns, DOA's etc etc that is an additional unwanted cost for Cake?? Curious. Just putting it out there.

Probably a distribution issue between Roalnd and Cakewalk. Keeps things cleaner. JMO.

You're probably right. I cant see however why they wouldn't want to take advantage of the Cake user base as an avenue to moving some more hardware (easily via the store) and at the same time possibly rewarding the user base with some sort of discount pricing etc.

I agree with Bapu (ITHRN), I bought a Roland interface and controller keyboard under the Cakewalk name and now it looks like the same gear is only available under the Roland name. It seems like they want a clear line between software and hardware and it's probably for the best.

It's now called Cakewalk by Roland. If that tells you anything. The transition of Cakewalk as a Roland prefered DAW was a marketing move. I think that in getting Roland to make gear specifically tailored to Cakewalk and visa versa, some product control changes have taken place and are still being worked out. It's hard to say which way it's going to go.

If there is Cakewalk proprietary hardware, then it gets into the same area as Pro Tools up to MP9 version have (V9 and V10 are compatible with most ASIO devices, although some such as the Focusrite Saffire Pro 40 took a lot of time to get PT10 to recognize it).

I'd like to see the Roland Capture cards available on the Cakewalk store with a choice of different bundles beyond the usual Sonar software bundle. Given that I already have Sonar, this add-on is meaningless, and although I realize that this bundle is intended to attract new users to Sonar, I think a different bundle (e.g. ProChannel plugs, or Z3TA, etc.) would make the Capture card more appealing to existing Sonar users. Just my dwindling two euros.
