What are the Pro Channel Mods emulating?

I am curious. I do not really follow what high end hardware this or that is I just kind of go off what feels good and what doesn't but I am curious what are the hardware equivalents to some of these modules and how well did they get the emulation down?

Yikes xabiton - you must be a firefoxxer or something, what's with all the extra code in your post ? Anyways, I'll jump in with my opinion . . .

I think the Cakewalk baker programmers have attempted to emulate some of the classic hardware devices with decades of proven usability in the audio recording field.
When these Prochannel modules were first released to us there were many useful opinions from obvious audio professionals regarding the accuracy of the emulations.

If you search the recent forum posting for these devices you may find some great opinions about how good the programming really is.

I use Chrome and firefox I don't know what's up with the code. As far as models I was looking for actual model names vs pc modules I did a google search but nothing came up that was relevant to what I was looking for.

    SSL eqs plus variations.

The comps - well, the name is on them or in the sales literature.

Any of the ones that say "s-type" are Solid Sate Logic emulations. That covers 40/50 percent of current modules. The "t-type" is a tektronix La-2a emulation. The other Compressor is a Urei 1176 emulation. As pointed out, these are either hinted at or spelled out in all the marketing stuff in the store and videos. Of course a $79 (and some got these for as little as $(10)product is not going to sound just like the real thing, but I suspect that for me, the price difference of a real LA2A far exceeds the difference in performance. I can't imagine the difference (for me that would be $39 versus $3500) is the 90 times better the price would suggest. There have been tests posted comparing these modules to the hardware and to other emulations. It holds its own against other emulations with all having some advantages and disadvantages. Mixed opinions. Some based on objective observation and some of the more extreme ones based on snobbery. This will not replace any of the old hardware if you want that exact sound but they are quality plugins that do share enough similarity to what they were modeled after to justify labeling themselves as legit emulations.
