Z3Ta+ 2.1 midi sync standalone mode

Hi,
 
I am using Z3Ta+ 2.1 in standalone mode and the tempo for fx and arps seems fixed at 120bpm.. I have tried several synths & controllers as input devices however I cannot seem to get the instrument to sync to external midi input... any ideas?
 
I would be really happy to discover that I am suffering from finger trouble, as I do not wish to launch Sonar simply to play and control Z3ta+ 2.1

    I was hoping someone would answer this.  I thought I saw a video somewhere that showed tempo settings but I'm guessing it was another synth. I have been wondering the same thing. Kind of silly to have a standalone mode that basically removes arp functionality

    Some more info..

    I downloaded a set of patches from CW last night the "Powerhouse Dance Collection" as it was on sale for $4.95.. using these patches it was possible to change the arpeggiator speed in standalone mode, so perhaps the fixed bpm is patch related? fiik..

    The user notes say it will sync however I still cannot sync to an external synth, even one with a built in sequencer such as the Fantom G..
