browser output bus

I usually set my browser default output bus to something different from the main, to adjust level properly and independently. In one project I set it to the reverb bus by mistake: there is no way out! When I change it, it sets the pick sign to the correct  bus visually, yet it goes on playing on the reverbed bus!! orrible. repeatable. First set ok, second set, ignored.
Anybody?
