I think Beepster just got one but I can't find the thread. I was sure it was in X1 forum.

Thanks anyway Ed, it seems to be a good thingy to put in the live-rack, connect the direct outs of the mixing board to it and use Scott's trusted 1QMV :)

I believe they are considered above average interfaces.

Well, the original Focusrite Saffires; 2 in 8 out, not the Pro 10. Works well for me.

Alex, I have the Scarlett 8i6.... Same everything as a Safffire, but with a "Scarlett" software bundle. No issues, at all. I've also heard that the Focurite preamps are well above average in midrange gear.

I don't have any experience with Focusrite's I/O gear (I use a Echo Layla 24/96), but I have had a mic pre from them. I ended up getting rid of my Focusrite Twin Trak Pro because, while it worked great, it got extremely hot! So hot that I was afraid it would catch something on fire so I kept my Presonus MP20 and let the Focusrite go. Of course, the mic pres in my Macking 1202 VLZ Pro are excellent for a mixer so they get a lot of use too. I did like the VU meters on the Focusrite though...

Sorry... didn't see this originally. As was mentioned I got the Scarlett 18i6 but IMO Focusrite makes a great interface. Haven't tried the mic pres yet but the high Z is really clean and full. Enjoy.

Alex I use a Saffire Pro 26 i/o and I love it. Very nice Pre's and great on the Hi Z's for guitar.

Yeah, man. As I was saying in my meandering, probably way too detailed thread on my Scarlett I plugged my bass straight into it, set MixControl to Instr. and the signal I got was like an Ampeg dialed into super clean and present. Completely clear, workable signal. In fact I'm so happy with the result I doubt I'll have to do anything to it aside from minor tweaks to reign it in a bit. I use to have to spend AGES drawing out my bass signals. Not with this. So happy. I can't wait to try out the actual mic pre stuff.
