32bit & 64bit sonar's global options

Hi all

Apologies for cross posting but as I'm thinking of installing X1 expanded 32bit I don't want to get caught out again.

I have both 32bit and 64bit versions of sonar 8.5 installed and I have created two project folders for each version but for some reason they seem like Siamese twins and insist on sharing the same folders.  So if I open up sonar 8.5 32bit and change my default project folder to the 32bit one that I created,   I will find that Sonar 8.5 64bit has changed it's default folder too which is not what I want.  I think I made the mistake of migrating project settings when I installed them but is there away of separating them without having to uninstall and re-install again?

If the only way to do this is to uninstall and reinstall sonar I have to say it's pretty poor show from cakewalk not to have given us a share/unshare option somewhere in the global options.
They must know that people will be running both versions or am I the only one who has 32bit and 64bit folders? I did this so I could keep songs that had plugs that didn't run well in bitbridge or rewire separate.
Cheers  Steve

Many, if not most SONAR settings are shared between 32 and 64 bit versions. I think Cakewalk has not thought one would like to have different settings for 32/64 but thanks for the idea... I may include settings swapper in Duckbar.

Yes I know it can be time saving to have them share their settings as I don't have to set each one up individually and this may be the only instance in which sharing is not welcome but I'm surprised they didn't see it coming.

I love your idea panup and if it could work for all versions I'd love it even more :)

I believe all X1 versions share the same Registry settings. It's a little awkward but a work around I use is to have 2 different projects in the same folder.

Why do you have a need for different 32 bit and 64 bit projects? - A serious question.

In the early days of 64 bit I often went back and forth between 32 bit and 64 bit versions of SONAR due to plugins not working properly when bridged but that didn't require different projects. Once I'd finfished working with the errant plugin back in 32 bit land I'd render the audio and or MIDI and move back to 64 bit.

Now I only work in 64 bit except if i have to go to Pro Tools 9HD for something.
