Hi Marus!  I had one several years ago and sold it but it's been long gone.  I got rid of it for a more portable 88 key digital piano.  is there a reason you specifically want an upright and not a digital piano?  of course they sound better than digital, but some of the digitals sound pretty darn convincing!

if you're serious about wanting an upright there are several places in the DFW area that sell pianos.  I would not suggest craigslist UNLESS you get a piano technician to check it out for you.  you can get some real crap - basically junk and get taken for your money if you don't know what to look for in a good piano and a piano tech would be able to do that.  you can usually hire one to check out a piano for relatively cheap AND sometimes they'll do it for free if you hire them to move it and/or set it up and tune it in your home.

+1 on a digital.  There are some that have "lighter" weighted actions that you might prefer.

I wondering if the heavier action isn't for exercise.

Good luck finding a piano, Marcus.  Best wishes on your condition.

Keep an eye on Craigslist. I have seen people give them away on there several times, just for you picking it up.

the guy is selling his digital piano (see his other thread in here). i do miss our old acoustic but for convenience and portability my Privia is so much better. you can pick up used pianos for a song; Reece has given you some great advice here. and playing an acoustic piano will be wonderful physio for your wrist! (no jokes about other suitable physio pastimes here, guys...lol!)

Wasn't he one of the Three Stooges?

I'd listen to Reece about Craigslist. I've never personally seen any piano from there, I've just seen offers for free the really cheap uprights.

I'd love to have a high end digital piano but man, they are expensive. I bet there are some decent uprights that can be had on the cheap if you take your time and look... and know what you are looking at when you look at one, and it sounds like you are preparing for that.

    Good luck with it.
