EZdrummer kits and drum maps
I'm having problems using the EZDrummer Nashville kit in SONAR X1. I think the problem may be two-fold: -
1. I don't have, and can't find, a drum map for the Nashville kit. I've looked all over Toontrack's site, and have just submitted an enquiry via their Support Portal, but I figured someone here might know where I could download one.
2. I'm not sure I've set things up 'correctly' in SONAR to begin with.
I have the basic EZDrummer Pop/Rock and Cocktail kits, plus Nashville as an add-on, inserted as a soft synth to a project template which has a drum track folder comprising eight synth(?) tracks (kick, snare, hats, etc.) and a MIDI track. This MIDI track's output is routed to 3-DM1-EZDrummer Standard Kit, while each of the eight synth tracks is routed to the Drums bus I set up in X1 (in the EZDrummer interface mixer I have each of the channels set to zero volume and panned to the centre, then routed to one of the eight tracks in the SONAR folder).
If I select 'New Drum Map' from the drop-down menu associated with the Output button I get a list of hundreds of drum maps, amongst which are EZDrummer Standard Kit and EZDrummer Cocktail Kit.
If I drag and drop grooves to the MIDI track from the Pop/Rock libraries, on playback they sound like the Pop/Rock kit. Similarly, grooves from the Nashville libraries sound like the Nashville kit. Because I prefer the Nashville sounds, I want all my drums to use them regardless of which library they came from.
What I don't understand is, how come the Nashville grooves don't sound like the Pop/Rock kit (not that I want them to, of course) when that's the drum map they're using; and, that being the case, will having the Nashville drum map installed give me the option of making all the drums sound like the Nashville kit?
All help greatly appreciated. I've looked at the X1 Help files but, as so often seems to be the case, I can find everything about the topic I'm after except the one thing I want to know!
