Unable to record drums

I have just installed GP4 (win 7) and am used to using GP 2

I followed the built in help screens and recorded a guitar track although it crackles all the way through - very annoying
The guitar recording source is from the line out of a marshall amp. The problem is not the amp, leads or guitar

Also I can seem to record any drums from synth drum kit supplied. I can hear it when I set it playing and it registers on the input level
of the drums track but doesnt record anything. I had no problem with guitar pro 2 so this is becoming very frustrating

I found the answer - you are suppose to drag them from the drum kit into the track. If it had sad said that in the manual it would have saved a lot of frustration. In fact the manual is lacking or incorrect in quite a few places so far. Does seem like they have been bothered to update it from previous versions

I'm glad figured out the situation with the drums.I asked about your soundcard because of the crackles you mentioned when recording your guitar. Are you using the line-out from your amp to deal with volume levels? If you can, maybe you should try micing your amp, maybe that would eliminate the crackling.
