Panning reverse?

Is there a reverse pan switch?
Some (not all) of my tracks play on the right side when panned left and vice versa.

Most likely its a wire crossed somewhere. The place to look first is your speaker setup. Trace back to be sure that left is left and right is right. Or you could switch the speakers.

Sonar wont reverse the left and right unless some plugin has. I have never run into that but Channel Tools could do this perhaps.

As most of my songs now seem to be left-right reversed, I switched the speaker cables and it's all good.
But how this happened I have no idea.
I wondered if it had to do with hitting "O" and adjusting things which I've been playing with.
    Thanks

From the X1 reference manual (Page 960) ...
"In Offset mode, you “offset” the current automation in a track using a parameter’s
controls. For example, if a pan envelope is set to hard left (100% left) and you adjust the pan in
offset mode to 100% right, then the pan parameter is now set to hard right. Setting the pan in offset mode to 50% right would set the pan to the center.

Note: Any position that you set a fader to in Offset mode remains in effect when you switch back
to Envelope mode. For example, if you set a volume fader to -INF while in Offset mode, switch to Envelope mode and drag the fader to its maximum level, you will not hear anything."
Might want to double check to make sure you don't have anything set in Offset mode just to be sure, although that would just force you hard left or right, not reverse anything iirc. Another thing to check is if you have Channel Tools on the master or some of the tracks. You can reverse left and right with it. Other than that, I can't think of anything that would reverse R and L other than a reversed cable or maybe the pan settings in the control panel of your sound card. I know on my M-Audio Fast Track Ultra I can reverse L and R via software.

    Good luck.

    Hi pwal,

Nope. I have John blocked, so I have no idea what he said in this thread. If what I typed applied to any of his responses it was purely coincidental.

I harbor no ill feelings toward him, it's just that we don't see eye to eye and end up hijacking threads with our discussions, so I felt it better I just block him.

I couldn't remember exactly how Offset mode worked with panning, so I looked it up since I wasn't at my DAW last night. I've run in to wacky problems like this before, that's why the thread caught my attention.

My apologies to John if what I said came off as being directed toward him.

    Thanks,

    Bub.
