Melodyne update just out

http://www.celemony.com/cms/index.php?id=986
Notice down the list:
"[Cakewalk Sonar] Memory optimization
A bug got fixed that would cause too much memory being used in Sonar X, thus making Sonar crash after long term usage."

Editor now plays nicely with Sonar as a plugin.

Thanks!   That's a decent list of bug fixes, and a few nice selection enhancements too.

Installed it here and have been working for about an hour with it without any of the usual instability. Still early but looking good so far...

Too bad they took so long to fix it that I would have to upgrade to a new version to get that fix.

Seems to be. I just transferred a 4 minute vocal track comprised of 9 clips into Melodyne, docked the editor on my other Monitor and spent about an hour doing adjustments. Even did some big pitch variations just to work the program a bit. Handled it without a hitch and when I went to bounce it rendered each clip with no strangeness with fast bounce enabled.

Seems to work just fine for me so far.  I may be back in love with Melodyne.

Oh, wait...was that out loud? I mean...I always loved you, Melodyne...I just wasn't IN love with you for a while. Don't be mad baby....you still have better pitch than any singer in the whole world. Now just keep treatin me right, and everything's gonna be fine, just fine...

No fix for Version 1.3..... No good.... Sonar still has to address the fastbounce timecode plugin issue as it affects fastbouncing gtr Rig Tempo sync effects in projects with moving tempos... as well as the other numerous plugins affected... waves/antares/...

yes, great. Stability issue with sonar as a plugin is fixed and works great here too. Thanks Skyline and others for pushing this with Celemony. They took a looooooooonnnng time to realise it was a bug with them.

Fast bounce is a Sonar problem that they have introduced with time based plug ins. Hope it gets fixed soon.

Celemony were onto the memory leak issue once CW informed them it was at their end, and asked me and at least one other Sonar user experiencing it to join beta testing.  (As in the old army expression: "You like music don't you my lad?  Well, you can help move the bloody piano!")  They have been very meticulous over the past six weeks or so making sure all known issues were thoroughly addressed before releasing the update, despite a bit of steam having built up among those unable to use Editor for some time because of the issue when plugged in to Sonar.  Anyway, all's well that ends well, and I for one am a happy bunny as I find Melodyne far, far easier to use and more versatile than any of its rivals.  Thanks Celemony!

Just got around to updating my Melodyne to 2.1, tested it abunch and was surprised to see the edits from Melodyne are sticking after freezing the track.. which hasn't happened.  I thought everyone said this was an issue on the Cakewalk side?

Either way everythings fine now.  Hmmm   ; )

CW need to fix the fast bounce option when bouncing a clip to another 'post-Melodyne' track; you need to leave that option unticked so that the bounce occurs in real time.  I can't speak for freezing as I don't use it.

I know we all thought that the Melodyne Fast Bounce problem was a Sonar X1 bug.  And it actually might have been BUT the recent  Melodyne update made it go away!!!  Not sure what they did but - YEAHHH!!!

Either Celemony found away around the Sonar bug - or there really wasn't a Sonar bug but a change that caused a Melodyne bug to surface.  Either scenario is possible but regardless of the source of the bug - it is gone with the latest Melodyne Editor update.

    Blimey, you're right!
When I was beta testing the new Melodyne they confirmed early on that the fast bounce thing was not something at their end.  I guess they must have been a bit shy about telling me that in fact it was and that they'd fixed it!

Sonar broke the fastbounce with D (still works in C and 8.53). Many other timecode plugins are not fastbouncing right since D. specifically timecode based... (gtr rig, waves, antares). Melodyne's update has found a way around the X1D fastbounce timecode issue. My problem is that Melodyne HAS NOT updated the 1.3 melodyne editor with all of the same issues. Instead they are forcing a $99 updgrade. Knowing that Cake busted them on their memory leak 7 mos ago.
