RIP Ray Bradbury

Dead at 91.

I am a Sci Fi nerd because of classic Sci Fi writers such as Ray Bradbury and Arthur C Clarke.

You guys - your stories will live on forever.

party on Ray!

That's a good long life. Loved his books as a kid, especially The Silver Locusts and Something Wicked This Way Comes.

This is an actual question from one of my Gen. Chem. exams:

What would be the title of Ray Bradbury’s book Fahrenheit 451 if he reported the ignition temperature of paper in degrees Celsius?

    A. Celsius 844
    B. Celsius 724
    C. Celsius 178
    D. Man, Is It Hot In Here?
    E. Celsius 233

    A
    451*1.8+32=844+/-0.5

    A is correct

and not to detract from the seriousness of Ray Bradbury's passing ... that exam question was a little tricky because the kids did not have the formulae and the other choices would be what you would arrive at ... if you selected the wrong equation:

    451 + 273 = answer B
    451 – 273 = answer C
    (451 – 32) x (5/9) = answer E

yeah, but what's the formula for D?

    RIP Mr. Bradbury.

I remember the TV show The Ray Bradbury Theater. Always enjoyed that.
