ZOOM B3 - bass amp simulator

I just purchased a ZOOM B3.  I'm having trouble with the "playback" of the "recorded" track sounding a bit distorted.  It doesn't sound distorted while I'm recording.  When I record, the levels are indicating -6 to -3.  I noticed I needed to turn down the volume on the bass itself to prevent some clipping. (maybe this has something to do with the active pickups)?  I'm recording from the bass into the ZOOM into a Tascam US-122 interface.

The sound of the zoom sounds great when I play it through headphones, but it seems to lose something when I record.  Any thoughts or suggestions?? Maybe I need to upgrade my interface to take full advantage of the ZOOM??

Thanks - Jeff

As I answered this same question of yours in another forum: Could it be you should plug the B3 directly into PC, because it's an audio interface? Daisy chaining two totally different interfaces doesn't sound like a good idea, especially if you are using ASIO drivers. How are you monitoring - directly through B3 or Tascam or through Sonar?
