Midi write too: Instead of mousing in notes, it draws a small red block.

It was working ok when I was writing/moving midi cymbal hits around in the piano roll.  Then it changed from drawing in midi notes to drawing little red dots (which dont sound out).  I must have clicked on something by mistake...

How do I get my write tool back to normal?

Are you sure your little red dots aren't simply extremely short Midi notes?

try highlighting your track, open PRV, and click the edit menu to see what's highlighted/ticked.

Looks like the track is using (being output to) a Drum Map.

Nope.  I can right click on it using the select tool and it does not give me a velocity value.
