Unwanted Firefire update

Until today I had not updated Firefox since version 3.6.28 and have always clicked the "No" box whenever prompted to update. However when I launched Firefox this morning it started updating without any warning and there was no way of stopping it. So I am now reluctantly on Version 12. I look forward to badly-formatted posts in these forums. In another thread I just tried to include a quote in a reply, but it would not work.

Thanks, but I still have a copy of v3.6.  However, in my experience installing an old version over a new one is not usually simple.  So I will now stick with v12 and use a different browser for accessing this forum.

For a split second I thought this post was about the Fireface and got scared. But yeah, Firefox did that unwanted update for me as well. :/
